Want to play a role in immigration reform? Have knowledge or training in immigration law? Have training and/or experience as an immigration paralegal or legal assistant? This position could be just right for YOU!

The American Immigration Lawyers Association is seeking a Liaison Coordinator to join its team. You will provide overall administrative support to department staff; provide extensive service support to members seeking information; manage and maintain a liaison inquiry database; monitor local liaison and raising issues to the national level where appropriate; maintain and update key liaison resources, assist in the development of new resources; coordinate the annual committee selection process; and work closely with our Component Relations Manager to support and develop chapter/local liaison activities.

Your background -
Undergraduate degree in related field. Basic knowledge or training in immigration law, policy and procedures. 1-2 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant (immigration law office experience, strongly preferred). Prior experience in an association, member-service or customer service environment is helpful.


To perform successfully in your new role, candidates should have excellent writing, editing, proofreading and organizational skills; strong interpersonal and oral communication skills; proficiency in MSOffice (word/excel/outlook); working knowledge of internet research tools; database proficiency; strong research and electronic communications skills, including use of internet; strong member-service orientation; and capacity to provide timely response to requests for information, service and/or assistance.
