Holistic Breast Cancer Treatments Ungrow 2 Cancerous Tumors

Activist Post

For those who doubt breast cancer, or any cancer for that matter, can be cured by holistic health modalities, the author of?A Cancer Answer, Holistic BREAST Cancer Management, A Guide to Effective & Non-Toxic Treatments, published August 17, 2012, is living proof, and provides documentation with a hospital sonogram readout taken 4 weeks before this dynamic book was published.?

The author was able to convince the book?s publisher to insert at the very end of the book those remarkable results proving holistic breast cancer treatments work.?

This book documents the author?s real-time odyssey, beginning with being informed she ?would not make it? without conventional oncology treatments, through her successful reduction of two cancerous tumors in her right breast in less than a year using only holistic and natural methods. The author clearly explains and documents why she elected not to have surgery, radiation or chemotherapy ? drastic treatments that would have left her damaged for the rest of her life.?

Catherine J. Frompovich is a consumer healthcare researcher who?s been studying cancer?demographics and research methods for years. She knows how research and statistics are skewed to report favorable statistical results for what?s called the ?gold standard? cancer treatment, surgery-radiation-chemotherapy.?

Her research uncovered the Fitzgerald Report of August 3, 1953 wherein Special Counsel Benedict F. Fitzgerald, Jr., stated

My investigation to date should convince this committee that a conspiracy does exist to stop the free flow and use of drugs in interstate commerce which allegedly have solid therapeutic value. Public and private funds have been thrown around like confetti at a country fair to close up and destroy clinics, hospitals, and scientific research laboratories which do not conform to the viewpoint of medical associations.
It is the opinion of author Catherine J Frompovich that nothing much has changed, with the exception that Fitzgerald?s stated conspiracy regarding holistic cancer treatments has only deepened in 2012 through Big Pharma?s chemotherapy. Catherine?s book discusses much about cancer, and breast cancer in particular, in both females and men, too?it?s called gynecomastia?in her 530 page dynamic and, possibly, provocative book. She also discusses how women can obtain earlier diagnoses than with a mammogram. She talks about her protocol and much more. It?s a book that tells it like it is, and is backed with scientific documentation.

Several physicians made contributions to the book; and as Dr. William G. Kracht, DO, says, ?Those who are asking for breast cancer treatment options will find?A Cancer Answer?a very valuable resource. Catherine clearly sets a leading example to help others evaluate their cancer treatment decisions. As she states in this book, cancer is a word, not a sentence.?

A Cancer Answer, Holistic BREAST Cancer Management, A Guide to Effective & Non-Toxic Treatments?is available on Amazon.com and Amazon Kindle.

Incivility reflects larger changes | PennLive.com

BY DAVID SALTER
For The Patriot-News

In the run-up to March Madness, two septuagenarians in Kentucky showed how mad they really were.

In a dialysis center before Louisville tipped off against the Wildcats in the Final Four, one man was receiving his dialysis treatment while the other waited his turn. One wore Louisville apparel, while the other donned the blue and white of the Wildcats. Rather than partaking in a good-natured discussion about the upcoming contest, one fan gave the other a one-finger salute, to which the other responded with a right cross to the jaw. Law enforcement was summoned, and both faced a date with a local judge.

In June, Martin Treblay, a youth hockey coach in Vancouver, is alleged to have intentionally tripped the goalie of the opposing team following the gold medal game in the spring tournament. This occurred in the handshake line after a U-13 game. The goalie sprawled to the ice and wiped out a teammate.

One of the boys came up with a broken wrist, and Tremblay is under investigation for assault. Tremblay was the coach of the winning team.

This isn't a dissertation on the zany antics of crazy coaches or pushy parents. It wasn't long ago that when we knocked down our opponent, we offered him or her a hand up off of the turf or the court. It also wasn't that long ago that two fans of opposing teams could sit next to one another in a sports bar and not come to blows over what transpired on a television screen.

Even when our sports world seemed a little bit testy, we could count on the Olympics to restore perspective.

Nowadays, however, youth league referees sometimes run for their cars after officiating a fourth-grade basketball game; high school athletes intentionally attempt to injure opponents and professional athletes step over their rivals in a taunting gesture.

With high school sports teams set to begin practice Monday and the NFL preseason under way, it seems pertinent to ponder the following: What in the name of Peyton Manning is going on?

Civility can be defined as showing respect for others. That might be simplistic, but for the sake of the argument, it's as good a place to start as any. How did we start losing our civility in the sporting arena, why does it seem to be disappearing and can we recapture something that we seem to be losing at a rapid rate?

"If I had to tip the scale, it's the nature of society bleeding into sports," said Lou Manza, a professor of psychology at Lebanon Valley College. "Sports have always been there throughout our lifetimes. The games haven't changed. But I think society has changed and how we interact with one another has changed."

There is some agreement with Dr. Manza's perspective.

"Sport is a microcosm of society," said John Brubaker. Brubaker is a Mechanicsburg native who is a performance consultant, speaker and author. "The reduced civility we see in all levels of sport is a reflection of our culture. Economic pressures have caused many in society to place a higher value on results than on the integrity of the process to achieve those results."

BEHAVIOR BEGINS EARLY

We used to persuade our kids to get involved in athletics to learn some of those life lessons that don't come from textbooks: teamwork, overcoming adversity, working to improve, respecting authority and responding appropriately when things don't go the way you had hoped they would.

At a time when children are supposed to be having fun, they have structured activity that is organized by adults who might or might not have the appropriate training and temperament to coach and run an organization. Most youth league coaches and youth league administrators are volunteers. They bring their experience as a player, but they also bring with them their friendships with other parents, pressures of the community, and, sometimes, their desire for fame.

"It's a misconception that sports builds character," said John Mayer, a clinical psychologist and the executive director of the new Center for Ethical Youth Coaching.

"You have kids so focused on winning that it's winning at all costs, so the hell with the other kids on the team.

"It used to be that sports were about teaching kids. It was part of their learning and socialization and recreation. Now, you've got to be the best that you can be."

Mayer's organization has done two things to attempt to create a more positive youth sports experience. It has developed a manual that's centered on directing coaches how to get all of the kids on their teams involved in the game without sacrificing success, and having the adults adhere to a code of ethical behavior. The second project is a certification process for youth coaches.

But it's not fair to place all of the responsibility on youth coaches. Mom and Dad have an equal, if not greater, responsibility, to foster the appropriate conduct in their young athletes.

"How to be a good sport, winning and losing with graciousness, are not innate skills," psychologist Frank Sileo said. "It has to be taught. We focus on the sore loser a lot, but we don't focus on being a sore winner, bragging and taunting someone."

Sileo has a new book coming out called "Sally Sore Loser," and the premise of the book not only is to teach kids to recognize sore losing but how to be a good winner. There also is a large section for parents instructing them on how to foster sportsmanship in their children.

"If a parent is driving his child home from a game and the adult talks critically about other players on the team, teasing or mocking other kids, why shouldn't the kid follow suit?"

FOLLOW THE MONEY

Money has taken a big bite out of sports at every level. Parents absorb ridiculous costs for equipment, some AAU basketball coaches actually get paid a salary, and the cost of attendance at a college or university has outpaced reasonable rates in almost any other business.

"There's pressure from parents. If you're going to get a Division I scholarship, parents know what they're worth," said Cory Bank, a sports psychologist with a practice outside of Philadelphia. He teaches at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

"You can save $200,000 over four years. That's a huge incentive financially."

"Where there's a problem, follow the money," Brubaker said. "The risk that people are willing to take because the stakes have gotten higher and higher and higher, people are willing to mortgage their souls, violate ethical codes and do unscrupulous things."

WHY NOT ROLE MODELS?

Former NBA player Charles Barkley once said that professional athletes are not role models. People can debate until next year whether he's correct. But there is some substance to the argument that, in general, people often emulate individuals in their chosen professions. So if a college athlete sees his NFL idol behaving badly, there's a reasonable expectation that he sees that behavior as acceptable and will duplicate it in his arena. "When you are in the public eye, the way you act is going to rub off on people," Manza said. "Whether or not you want to be, you are a role model."

Carla Lundblade is a licensed therapist in Beverly Hills, Calif., and an elite skills coach who specializes in sports and celebrity psychology.

"When you are on a world stage, there are certain things to overcome as an athlete to succeed," Lund blade said. "The reason you are on a world stage is that many are watching you, so no matter what you do, it's going to affect people.

"It's sports entertainment, now, before and after the game," she continued. "That's a big part of the story. There's a certain amount of banter to generate excitement and media, and that's normal. It starts with the athlete, though, which will trickle down to how the fans participate in sports as well. When athletes do things well, they can create positive change."

Oftentimes when circumstances begin a downward spiral, it's difficult to reverse the negative momentum. Tides and currents change directions. Storms blow through, and the sun comes back out.

"I don't know if you're going to go back to the way it was," Bank said. "You act locally because very few of us are going to do it on a global level. As a parent in a community, set that code of conduct, preach it and reinforce it. We can do it locally. I don't know if you're going to get it back on a national level."

SEVEN STEPS I'D LIKE TO SEE

1 Mandatory certification for youth and high school coaches

2 Stop giving everyone a trophy just for showing up

3 Eliminate athletic scholarships

4 Leaders enforce rules for bad behavior

5 Hold general managers, athletic directors and coaches accountable for behavior of players

6 Provide educational programs for athletes on how to handle success and failure, the importance of sportsmanship and civility, and how to conduct themselves in public

7 Reward persistent good sportsmanship

Stocks close near a fresh four-year high

Tom Lee, chief equity strategist at JPMorgan, gives three reasons why stocks are rallying and while they will keep going into the election.

By NBC News wire reports

Updated at 4:05 p.m. ET: Stocks closed Friday near a fresh four-year high, chalking up a sixth straight week of gains, as a drop in Wall Street's ?fear gauge? and gains across all sectors suggested the market has room to move higher.

The Nasdaq rose as Apple?s shares reached an all-time high.

The S&P 500 made a solid move above the closely watched 1,400 level in the last session, posting its biggest gain in two weeks. The S&P 500 needed to close above 1,419.04, its April high, to make a new four-year high. It closed Friday less than a point below that level.

?From a sentiment point of view, the market has little to inhibit it from proceeding higher,? said Ralph Edwards, director of derivatives strategy at ITG in New York.

?The best rallies are, of course, the broadest, so it makes sense to view, in real-time, the stocks that are propelling the index so as to make sure that the advance is not just being carried on the shoulders of one sector,? he said. ?Here, the news is also good.?

Tom Lee, chief equity strategist at JPMorgan, said he expects stocks to rally into the election in early May.

Lee pointed to improving second-half fundamentals, particularly in housing and construction activity, which he said ?has really been building some economic momentum, or sustaining it.?

Fund managers have become too bearish, he told CNBC.

?We think there?s going to be a big chase into Election Day,? Lee said, noting that he has raised his target for the S&P 500 index and now expects it to hit the 1,475 level by early November -- an increase of 4 percent from its current valuation.

The CBOE VIX volatility index, seen as a measure of investor concern on Wall Street, hit a 5-year low on Friday, fell 6 percent to 13.47 in a sign that investors are less concerned about risk than they have been.

With few news headlines and light participation during summer holidays, traders are increasingly taking their cues from market technicals.

Shares in Apple Inc jumped to an all-time intraday high of $645.48 earlier in the session. Broker Jefferies raised its price target on the stock to $900 from $800 and gave it a 'buy' rating.

But Facebook shares continued to slide after the expiration of a lockup period on some of the company's stock following its initial public offering. The shares fell as much as 4.3 percent to a record low of $19.01.

Groupon Inc also slumped to a new low on Friday after Evercore Partners analyst Ken Sena downgraded shares of the largest daily deal company and set a $3 price target on the stock.

The S&P 500 has risen 2.6 percent in August and nearly 11 percent since a year low in June as traders eye some encouraging U.S. jobs data and highly anticipated policy meetings at the European Central Bank and the Federal Reserve in September.

The economic data on Wednesday was mixed, leaving investors wondering if the recovery was real.

The Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan consumer sentiment survey for August rose to its highest since May to 73.6, buoyed by sales at retailers and low mortgage rates.

Separately, the Conference Board said its leading economic index climbed 0.4 percent, reversing a 0.4 percent decline in June and pointing to slow growth through the end of 2012.

"It's interesting because we've had this mixed bag from the economic data. Today's is a good step and yesterday was a little disappointing, with the housing data, so we are all just kind of wondering, is this recovery real?" said Ryan Detrick, senior technical strategist, Schaeffer's Investment Research in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Trading volume, which has been meager over the past several sessions during a seasonally slow period, could be even lighter heading into the weekend. This week has seen the lowest and second lowest full-day trading volumes of the year.

The S&P rallied for six days through August 10, boosted by the anticipation of more actions from central banks in the United States and euro zone.

The S&P 500 rose to a four-month peak on Thursday after comments from German Chancellor Angela Merkel reinforced investor expectations for action to tackle the euro zone debt crisis.

Gap advanced after the clothing retailer posted a higher quarterly profit and raised its full-year forecast.

Marvell Technology Group Ltd dropped after the chipmaker posted second-quarter earnings and said current-quarter results may miss expectations.

Reuters contributed to this report.

Why is Gay Marriage Like a Dodge Durango? ? Pennsylvania Tenth ...

Posted by Steve Palmer

Introduction

In 2010, I posted ?On Thought Control and Same Sex Marriage?, discussing the gay marriagehttp://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/38/Brainwashing_1%2C_acr%C3%ADlico_sobre_lienzo%2C_100_x_80_cms.JPG debate.? In that article, I took the position that a.) marriage is not a matter for the federal government and b.) although the states do have power to regulate marriage, it is ethically wrong that they exercise it.? Marriage, like any other contract, should be left to the private parties involved in the agreement.? Government?s only legitimate role in marriage is enforcing the contract when it is in dispute.

With the recent Chik-Fil-A dust-up, same sex marriage has been in my thoughts again.? As a liberty advocate, this is an issue that is particularly vexing to me on a personal level.??? You see, to me, marriage is a committed relationship between a man and a woman.? It?s not ethics.? It?s language.? From my perspective, a marriage will always be a man and a woman, no matter what the government tries to dictate.? The word means what it means.? Anyone trying to force me to change my definition is attempting to dictate my thoughts.? When government does it, this is one of the most unreasonable uses of force that I can imagine.

On the other hand, I certainly believe that gays are entitled to the same rights as anyone else.? Both of these propositions, to me, are indisputably true, but they seem to be in conflict.? That?s a problem.? I don?t like it when my thoughts are conflicted.

So how do I resolve the conflict?? One of the two propositions must be wrong.? Either marriage cannot mean what I think it means or marriage is not a right (of anyone, straight or gay).? I believe I have made some progress down the path to resolution, first by examining the two propositions, and second by reframing the debate.

?

Resolving the Contradiction

So we have two propositions: a.) I believe that a marriage is a committed, contractual, relationship between a man and a woman; and b.) I believe that everyone, gay or straight, is entitled to the same rights.? We must examine them more carefully.

First, does my personal understanding of the word ?marriage? refer exclusively to a man and a woman.? I can?t reach this? proposition through logic.? I can only say that it is self evidently true and use a comparison.? To me, a car is an automotive vehicle with four wheels, a hood, and a trunk.? File:Dodge-Durango.jpgSomeone might call a Dodge Durango a car and someone else might call a Ford F-150 a car, but to me, a Durango is an SUV and an F-150 is a pickup truck.? I have no objection to others using a different classification scheme, but that?s the one I use.? If? Uncle Sam were to come along and tell me that a Durango is a car, I wouldn?t be inclined to agree with him and I would be offended at his presumption.? Just like I am offended when people demand that I be forced to change my classification for who?s married and who isn?t.

Next, is marriage a right?? The answer to this is almost immediately no, because it involves consent from another party.? If I can?t find someone who will agree to marry me, I cannot get married.?? If it were a right, I could exercise it without permission from someone else.? Saying that marriage is a right, for the person who hasn?t found an agreeable spouse, is like saying we have a right to buy a time machine.? It?s nonsensical.? You can?t have a right to do something that can?t be done.

In fact, the supposed right to marriage is actually comprised of a number of claims.? We will see in the next section that there are at least 4 claims being made by the two sides under the catch-all slogan, ?gay marriage?.?? At this point, we have established that there is, in fact, no inherent conflict between viewing marriage in the traditional sense and believing that all people have the same rights.

?

Reframing the Debate

Often, when you are faced with a difficult problem, one way to solve it is to reframe it ? to break things down to their components and rearrange those components.? In order to make progress towards a consistent belief system, we can attempt to do this for the gay marriage debate.

When a person advocates for gay marriage, they are demanding the right for gays to enter into a legally recognized committed relationship; They are demanding access to subsidies that are set aside for people in committed relationships;? They are demanding the right to call their relationship a marriage; And they are demanding that I be forced to call their relationship a marriage.

When a person advocates for traditional marriage, they are demanding that gays in committed relationships be denied legal recognition; They are demanding that access to subsidies set aside for people in committed relationships should be reserved to those in so-called straight relationships; They are demanding that gay people be denied the ability to describe their relationship as a marriage; and they are demanding that I be forcibly prevented from saying that a gay, committed relationship is a marriage.

So let?s look at these four points.? First, should gays be allowed to be in a legally recognized, committed relationship?? This seems obvious.? Gays have the same right as anyone else to legal recognition of their committed relationship.? In my opinion, such recognition (for gay and straight marriages) should be limited to recognition of a legally valid contract.

Next, should gays get access to subsidies which are set aside for people in a committed relationship?? Well, if subsidies are being set aside, then I suppose they should.? The fact is that both sides are wrong on this one.? The reality is that subsidies should not be set aside for married people, either gay or straight.? Equal treatment under the law demands that single people should not be plundered in order to benefit married people, whether the married people are gay or straight.

Third, should gays be allowed to refer to their committed relationships as ?marriages??? Most assuredly.? I should hope that I would not presume to dictate anyone else?s thoughts any more than I would allow them to dictate mine.? The traditional family side gets this one wrong.

Finally, should I be forced to refer to a gay committed relationship as a marriage?? Under the same ethical principle that allows gays to call their relationship a marriage, I cannot be required to do so.? The gay marriage advocates get this one wrong.

?

Conclusion

?By going through this exercise, we can clearly see the roots of the apparent contradiction in the idea that a person can believe that a marriage is between a man and a woman and also believe that gays have the same rights as anyone else.? In fact, the question, ?gay marriage: yes or no?? is one of those famous ?false choices? we so often hear about.

When broken down to its components, both sides of the gay marriage debate contain propositions that are objectionable from the perspective of Liberty.?? Gays do have the right to be in legally recognized, committed relationships, and they do have the right to call those relationships ?marriages?.? However, they do not have the right to plunder single people to subsidize those relationships and they don?t have the right to force other people to use the word ?marriage? to describe their relationship.

If we are ever to reach agreement on this question, as a society, I believe that the debate needs to be taken to a deeper level than just ?gay marriage: yes or no??.? At this level of debate, neither answer is satisfactory.

File:Die Gartenlaube (1869) b 213.jpgBy going through this exercise, it also becomes clear that the disagreement over gay marriage is made worse by government?s continued meddling in marriage.? The first marriage licenses were established to prevent interracial marriage.? From these racist roots, marriage licenses and the associated system of legal plunder which has evolved from them, continue to be divisive influences on our society.

As Bastiat observed in, The Law, whenever government force is allowed to extend itself beyond its legitimate sphere of influence, competing bands of rent seekers will seek to use government force to profit at the expense of others.? This is true of people who claim subsidies and benefits on behalf of the traditional family, and of those who seek to extend the class of married people:

But if the fatal principle should come to be introduced, that, under pretense of organization, regulation, protection, or encouragement, the law may take from one party in order to give to another, help itself to the wealth acquired by all the classes that it may increase that of one class, whether that of the agriculturists, the manufacturers, the ship owners, or artists and comedians; then certainly, in this case, there is no class which may not try, and with reason, to place its hand upon the law, that would not demand with fury its right of election and eligibility, and that would overturn society rather than not obtain it.

Genetic material in blood cells may affect malaria parasites

ScienceDaily (Aug. 15, 2012) ? Researchers at Duke University Medical Center may finally have discovered why people with sickle cell disease get milder cases of malaria than individuals who have normal red blood cells.

In a finding that has eluded scientists for years, Duke researchers discovered that genetic material in red blood cells may help alter parasite activity via a novel mechanism that alters parasite gene regulation.

"One of the most interesting findings in our study is that the human microRNA (very small units of genetic material) found in sickle red cells directly participate in the gene regulation of malaria parasites," said Dr. Jen-Tsan Chi, M.D., Ph.D., senior author and associate professor in the Duke Institute for Genome Sciences and Policy and Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology. "These microRNAs enriched in the sickle red cells reduce the parasite's ability to propagate, so that certain people stay more protected."

MicroRNAs are small units of RNA, which come from DNA. MicroRNAs are only 20-25 nucleotides long and help to regulate gene expression.

The scientists also showed that when two different microRNAs were introduced at higher levels in normal red cells, the parasite growth also was decreased.

The findings appear in the journal Cell Host and Microbe.

"This finding should lead to greater understanding of the host-parasite interaction and parasite lifecycle, which may eventually develop into a new approach to therapy for malaria, which up to 500 million people develop each year worldwide," Chi said.

Every year about 1.5 to 3 million people die from the disease, most of them children, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Between 1,000 and 2,000 cases occur in the United States.

"I think this work will expand our understanding of the interaction between the malaria parasite and its human host, given that this is a completely new mode of interaction between them, and will give us a far greater understanding of the parasite life cycle," said lead author Greg LaMonte, a scientist in the Chi laboratory.

The malaria parasites grow in the human red cells, cells that scientists thought lacked any genetic material. Many scientists had looked for the components in sickle cells that could help them resist the parasite, but the Duke researchers found one component by thinking outside of scientific norms.

The Duke team found microRNAs in the red blood cells and showed that their composition is dramatically different in the sickle red blood cells. Counter to what they expected, they showed that these differences directly contribute to the malaria resistance in sickle cell disease.

The scientists also conducted a different experiment that showed blocking these microRNAs (miR-451 and Let-7i is particular) in sickle cells reduced the ability of the cells to protect against malaria.

"If you block the miRNAs, the parasite grows two or three times as well," Chi said.

Another surprise in this investigation was the presence of a chimera, a fusion of human microRNA with the parasites' mRNAs.

"We never expected to find this," Chi said. "The fusion of human and parasite RNA represents a unique form of host-parasite interaction, and may reflect either a novel form of host-cell immunity or a mechanism by which the parasite is able to adapt to the host-cell environment."

Funding came from the Duke Chancellor's pilot project fund, the Roche Foundation for Anemia Research, Burroughs Welcome, Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and the National Institutes of Health (grant number NIH R21DK080994).

Other authors included Nisha Philip, Joseph Reardon, Nisha Philip, William Majoros and Lesley Chapman of the Duke Institute for Genome Sciences and Policy; all but Majoros are also part of the Duke Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology. Joshua R. Lacsina and Christopher V. Nicchitta are both with the Duke Departments of Cell Biology and Pathology. Courtney D. Thornburg is with the Duke Department of Pediatrics. Marilyn J. Telen is with the Duke Department of Medicine. Uwe Ohler is with the Duke departments of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Computer Science, and the IGSP. Timothy Haystead is with the Duke Department of Pharmacology and Cancer Biology. Co-lead author Nisha Philip, formerly of Duke IGSP, is currently at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Molecular Parasitology, University of Glasgow, Glasgow, Scotland.
